Magnolia Down Under Challenge 3

Here is my take on Challenge #3. The challenge is….
* Must have at least one yellow ribbon.
* Has to be Tilda.
* And last of all has to have a flower.
I had to go searching for yellow ribbon in my stash-the only one I could find was a bright yellow, but lucky I remembered that I had a pack of Fairytale Ribbon Originals! This actually has white flowers on it too!
I fell in love with this gorgeous Tilda, so thought I'd use it to send my mum a special card-that way she knows how special she is! I've used watercolour paper this time and used Stampin'Up! markers to colour it in with an aqua painter. I'm really happy with the intensity of colours using this method.
The sentiment is from Stampin'Up! Stem Sayings-a really useful set. Card Stock is Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue & Lovely Lilac with Polka Dots & Paisley Designer Series Paper. I've used my pretties kit for the flowers and Ice Rhinestones for the centre.
For a card that when I started I had no idea of what I was doing, the end result is quite effective!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge 2

Firstly I will apologise for the photo being slightly crooked. We've had storms rolling around all afternoon and I want to get this posted before the next one arrives!
I've actually had this card finished since Wednesday night, but have been busy with a workshop, school fete and just normal everyday life with kids-I only seemed to remember to take photos of it late at night when the light was terrible!
The challenge theme for this week was….
* Getting tangled up in ribbons…. We ask that you try and use 5 ribbons - more if you are able. All in different colours or at least different shades. Once again remember they can be stamped etc. But for this one we would like to see a few actual ribbons.
Well, after a lot of thought I thought I'd use the ribbons to create a border-there's the first 3. Then the last two were for the strings of the balloons. I'm just so glad my Magnolia order had this cute Tilda stamp in it!
The Tilda image reminds me so much of my Miss Meg-especially with the gingery blonde curls! It would be a good card to keep for her birthday (which isn't until October!) I'm really looking forward to see what next week's challenge is. Think I might need to do another order of Magnolia stamps too!!!!!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge 1

Yeah, I managed to get this uploaded before the challenge finishes. I fell in love with these gorgeous stamps from Magnolia ages ago, and my new email friend (and another wonderful Stampin'Up! demonstrator) Kellie Winnell pointed me in the right direction as to where to get them! Thanks Kellie!
The requirements for the first ever Magnolia Down Under were:
* Has to have RED…
* Has to have a Tilda not Edwin….
*And lastly has to have a Autumn Theme…

Luckily for me my first order from Magnolia arrived on Thursday, so I've spent my spare time over the last few days getting this done.

I'm really happy with my first attempt at colouring Tilda-it's quite time consuming though. I ended up giving this card to my Bella, who got her first Assembly Award on Friday-way to go Belle-Belle!!!

Now, to try and link this post the Magnolia Blog!

Wild About Blogging!!!

Here is a card I made for Bella's little friend Dan, aka "lil dog".

I've used the Wild About You set, using my Bold Brights markers to ink up the lion. Just remember to use the lightest colour first so the darker colour doesn't bleed into tip of lighter marker.
I've used colours from the Bold Brights family (glorious green, yoyo yellow, real red) - I find these are great for boys cards. I've punched two window word shapes using Brilliant Blue textured card stock for the 'hangers'. The words 'Happy Birthday' are from the Cheery Chat set.

Apologies!!

Thought I'd jump on quickly to apologise for my absence in blogging! We had issues with our old computer (it was old and didn't cope too well with uploads and photos in the end!). Our new computer is up and running but in the meantime my Photoshop Installation CD has gone missing, so my photos are too large to upload to blogger!
I will continue to hunt out the CD-fingers crossed it shows up soon!

Nursery Necessities Baby Shower

I made this card and journal for my friends baby shower a few weeks ago. I had the photos all ready to go for my blog-just needed to find time & energy to post them!
I copied the idea of the card from an old Stamping & Papercraft magazine, the ribbon unties to open up to the middle of the card. I've used the new baby set-Nursery Necessities, using my Soft Subtle markers to ink up the separate parts of the boat. Below is a photo of the card with the Journal:
I've used some Flavia paper to decorate the cover of this Journal, then paper pieced the boat-copying the boat stamp used in the card. I just need to put Bub's name on the Journal now he's arrived safe and sound!
Charlie arrived Sunday 17th August. He's such an adorable little boy! Congratulations Kirstie & Dan! I'll be back to post his birth card soon-hopefully!!!!

Apple Cider Cards

Well, here are the cards I promised last week-a bit later than expected. My youngest daughter, Meg, and I have had the tummy bug so I've been out of action! I'm happy to say that we are almost back to full health, just building back up our strength now. Anyway, here they are:

These 3 cards have NO stamping-they all are made using the new 'Apple Cider' Designer Series Papers and many Stampin' Up! punches. Very simple yet stunning cards. I really love the colours in these papers. I've made a few more cards using them today. When they have reached their recipients I'll post them on here. I'd hate to spoil the fun of our card swaps, I love the anticipation and excitement of happy mail!
